Job Summary: Responsible for implementation, communication, and coordination of all environmental, health, and safety aspects of the project.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set and review health and safety guidelines to minimize accidents and injuries.
- Develop and monitor the implementation of requirements associated to the integrated management system (Safety and Environment Plan)
- Ensures compliance with applicable in respect of safety and health rules.
- Collaborates with the Managing Director on the upkeep of the organization and updates all documents under the HSPM.
- Conduct safety audits checks and compile reports, this may include checking for appropriate safety clothing or gear, as well as enforcing the display of safety signage.
- Perform risk assessment and combat source risks that be avoided.
- Shall periodically review the efficacy of HSPM and ensure compliance.
- Organizes an efficient file that can be maintained easily accessible and identifiable records concerning safety, to always demonstrate the operability of the system.
- Enquires the distribution of required PPE to workers, ensuring their proper suitability.
- Performs verification of equipment used in site work to release its entry, executing the record of overall control of equipment as required by DHSPM for that purpose.
- Coordinates the intervention team first in the provision of first aid.
- Consult with government regulations and other emergency response agencies to ensure that the workplace is compliant with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Responsible for presenting and explaining plans, as well as conducting training programs.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental Science, or a related field.
- International certification in Health and Safety Management is a must.
- 15 years of proven work experience in health, safety, social, and security operations including risk management on mega construction projects with 10 years of experience in a managerial position.
- Must have worked on large international construction projects.
- Solid knowledge of ISO 9001; ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards and Audits.
- Experience working on oil and gas projects is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge in implementations of safety systems such as preparations of health and safety plans, safety procedures, safety data sheets, document analysis and control, monitoring of works and security reports, risk assessments and monitorization, and security procedures on work sites.
- Ability to coordinate health and safety training, comply with legal requirements, chemical product control, and verification of the adequacy of quality, environment and safety, and health plans.
- Solid knowledge of MS Office tools and SAP (preferential)
- Ability to communicate at all levels in the organization.
