Job Title: Regulation Officer (Fresher Jobs)

Reports to: Senior Registration and Compliance Officer
About the Company:
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) is established as a Statutory Body under the Uganda Registration Services Bureau Act Cap. 210. The Bureau is a key player in Commercial, Civil and Intellectual Property Rights Registration that facilitate private sector development and vital statistics for national planning.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and identifying gaps in the current Insolvency legislation.
- Carry out research on relevant laws.
- Advise and propose reforms required for the better administration of Insolvency in Uganda.
- Register Insolvency practitioners
- Investigate the conduct of insolvency practitioners and prosecute them for any offences committed under the Insolvency Act.
- Ensure compliance by insolvency practitioners
- Create awareness about insolvency practice in Uganda.
- Take all necessary steps and actions considered fit by the Official Receiver to fulfill the provisions of the Insolvency Act.
Key Outputs
- To review, identify and facilitate the legal reform process for laws administered under the insolvency regime of Uganda.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- An Honors’ University Degree in Law and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from recognized institution.
Personal Specification
- Must possess drafting skills,
- Must possess knowledge of the current legal framework in Uganda.
- Must demonstrate skill and knowledge of legislative drafting and the legal reform process.
- Experience in legislative drafting shall be an added advantage.
