Job Summary: Shona Capital is seeking a Finance & Administrative Assistant
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Finance & Accounting – 70%
- Reviewing and processing requisitions and reimbursement claims.
- Assisting the investment team with credit control processes, budget planning, and expense analysis.
- Maintaining a digital record of all financial transactions, documents, and supplier information.
- Process loan disbursements, ensuring all necessary approvals and processing steps are complete
- Monitor loan repayments, reconciling them across various transaction channels, and keeping the portfolio management team updated with accurate information.
Administration-30%
- Ensuring the office is stocked with necessary supplies and that all equipment is working and properly maintained.
- Planning, scheduling, and promoting office events, including meetings, conferences, interviews, orientations, and training sessions.
- Manage office premises and ensure it provides a safe and productive working environment.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree, with a major in business, finance, accounting or economics. ACCA or CPA qualification is an added advantage.
- 2-3 years of experience in a finance and admin role, preferably in a financial institution
Skills + Capabilities
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Hands-on experience with accounting software like QuickBooks
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
