Job Summary: The ideal candidate will be involved with preparing financial reports and statements, inventory management and taxation. Moreover, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and possess a strong business acumen.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Post all transactions into the accounting system
- Receive and reconcile cash receipts and make payments for stock upon approval
- Review all stock requests by sales representatives and ensure daily reconciliation
- Receive stock into the warehouse, monitor inventory levels and place orders for stock for approval
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare monthly financial statements
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
- Prepare financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Advise management on the company’s financial health and liquidity
- Comply with financial policies, accounting standards and regulations of the Republic of Uganda
- Support the audit process
- Any other duties assigned by line manager
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Fully certified CPA or ACCA professional qualification
- Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements and periodicals
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- 1 year work experience or more
- Hands-on experience with accounting softwares like Odoo, tally or quickbooks
- Strong attention to detail
- Fluent in English and Luo
- Candidate must be based in Lira town, Northern Uganda
