Job Title:  Accountant (Fresher Jobs)

Job Summary:   The ideal candidate will be involved with preparing financial reports and statements, inventory management and taxation. Moreover, the candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and possess a strong business acumen.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Post all transactions into the accounting system
• Receive and reconcile cash receipts and make payments for stock upon approval
• Review all stock requests by sales representatives and ensure daily reconciliation
• Receive stock into the warehouse, monitor inventory levels and place orders for stock for approval
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare monthly financial statements
• Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
• Prepare financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
• Advise management on the company’s financial health and liquidity
• Comply with financial policies, accounting standards and regulations of the Republic of Uganda
• Support the audit process
• Any other duties assigned by line manager

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Fully certified CPA or ACCA professional qualification
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements and periodicals
• Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• 1 year work experience or more
• Hands-on experience with accounting softwares like Odoo, tally or quickbooks
• Strong attention to detail
• Fluent in English and Luo
• Candidate must be based in Lira town, Northern Uganda
