Job Summary:   The incumbent will ensure that all assignments are carried out to the highest standards to provide outstanding value to clients and the Firm, provide support to engagement teams by ensuring efficient & effective data collection for utilisation on engagements per agreed client and Firm standards and promote our leadership capabilities, which are living our purpose, influence, performance drive, strategic direction and talent development.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Bookkeeping and preparation of Management Accounts and regular filing of ALL statutory returns for compliance of our clients;
  • Provide finance related consultancy services to our clients with a view of ensuring clients satisfaction;
  • Help to create client awareness of our systems and processes;
  • Follow up with the clients to obtain various approvals for the bank payments, Purchase orders, invoices, payrolls, and other instruments;
  • Supervise the job performance of supervisees, GL reviews, financial statement preparation, financial statement Analysis ratings, Fixed Asset management;
  • Provide operational support and directives to various business offices within the firm during risk procedures and quality reviews;
  • Pursue positive perception of the firm by the regulator and other regulatory authorities and agencies and liaise with concerned units in preparing all responses to queries from the statutory authorities and other agencies as per our client mandate;
  • Mentor and coach all your direct supervisees to create a succession plan in the unit;
  • Ensure strict and regular reconciliation of all Bank accounts to ensure there are no shocks;
  • Work with the Senior and Manager to coordinate clients’ activities as may be agreed up on in the terms of reference;
  • Coordinate the tax compliance of the assigned clients by working with tax department to ensure correct tax reporting; and,
  • Perform any other duties assigned.

  • Budgets/Profitability – Manages engagement budget through accurate budgeting, cost control and profitability management.
  • Laws and rules – Develops knowledge of current legislation across the Global Business Process Solutions function.
  • Delivery excellence – Recognizes the key capabilities required to deliver a high quality service experience to the client.
  • Analytical thinking and problem solving – Collects, assimilates, and analyzes data and uses standard processes and tools to help surface and support solutions for solving problems in the Business Process Solutions business.
  • Technology tools and solutions – Applies technology knowledge to address client business challenges.
  • Finance & Accounting – Operates finance and accounting solutions that strengthen compliance and improve efficiency.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • At least an Upper Second-class honour Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Statistics, Finance, Accounting or Management Studies from a recognised university;
  • A minimum of sixteen (16) points at ‘A’ Level or equivalent;
  • A first Grade in ‘O’ Level (with at least credit 3 in English and Mathematics) or equivalent;
  • At least five (5) years finance experience; with three (3) years in a core Finance or accounting role.
  • A recognized accounting qualification such as Certified Public Accountants (CPA) at level 3 or Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) at part 3 or the equivalent, is an added advantage;
  • Be a Ugandan citizen or eligible to work in Uganda.
