Our client in the Data Centre industry a company focused on investing in and developing a network of data centres across Africa. It is a centerpiece of infrastructure supporting the growth and digitalization of the Ugandan economy. We believe that the digital transformation of businesses and the public sector in Uganda will drive a surge in data consumption.
We are positioned to adequately address this growth in demand with state-of-the-art facilities that will also attract international peers and we the first of a kind in Uganda.
A carrier neutral facility built to Uptime Institute’s Tier III standard with capacity to host up to 400 racks and deliver
1.5MW of IT power at final phase. The data centre is designed to enable business continuity and is monitored closely to ensure the smooth running of all the critical IT equipment, enabling a secure and redundant environment.
Job Summary: The Account Manager plays a critical role in building and maintaining relationships with significant clients. While representing the Uganda branch and striving for client satisfaction. The Account Manager must also be able to identify new cross and upsell opportunities, communicate these to internal team members and assist in crafting new solutions to increase sales.
With excellent communication and presentation skills to represent our company and articulate our value proposition to major clients, ultimately, the Account Manager will be responsible for retaining existing client revenue while achieving a monthly and annual target for net new sales.
Job Responsibility: Driving Profitable growth for Raxio Data center is expected to;
Be the primary point of contact and build long-term relationships with customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Achieve new business monthly and annual against set sales targets.
- Achieve assigned account objectives for each client.
- Manage assigned accounts portfolio.
- Provide input into operational and promotional planning which will ensure revenue growth within an allocated portfolio of accounts.
- Suggest solutions and innovative ideas to meet client needs.
- Create, cross sell and up sell opportunities.
- Attending industry-specific events within customer domain.
- Recommend ways to exploit new opportunities to grow the business further.
- Incentivized to find new business opportunities to increase Incremental Monthly recurring revenues.
- Be Focused on acquiring new customers to ensure revenue growth. Incentivized to increase the clients’ wallet share and need to maintain existing billing and increase new billing.
- Ensure a culture of Operational excellence by;
- Providing account plans, daily activity reports, and any other reports as requested by the sales Manager.
- Focusing on providing exceptional Customer Experience
- Ensuring all customer queries are attended to and resolved within agreed SLA’s.
- Communicating with major clients on a regular basis and responding to specific queries.
- Ensuring that customer specifications are met, and that the customer is satisfied with
- the end service and/or product.
- Working consistently according to standard operating procedures.
- Seeking feedback from clients/ stakeholders and continuously seeking ways of improving quality and customer service standards.
- Establish and maintain strong, long-term client relationships you are expected to:
- Handle complaints and problems in a timely and effective manner
- Act as the liaison between clients and internal teams
- Identify and approach new potential strategic clients.
- Negotiate mutually profitable business plans with clients.
- Set up meetings with new and existing clients through personal visits, telephone calls and e-mail correspondence.
- Attend and contribute at sales meetings.
- Attend sales training sessions to be able to answer product related questions from clients.
- Be a central point of information for business relationship related matters by;
- Delivering exceptional client service.
- Planning projects and activities systematically in line with business priorities
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of competitor activity, products and services.
- Ensure that forecast and pipeline data is captured in the system with no more than a 15% variance of forecast versus actual.
- Keeping the CRM system data pristine for assigned accounts, including but not limited to their monthly MRR, existing services, pending opportunities, and account status for each client.
- Identify and report client pain points and provide a monthly period report on the same.
- Give a monthly report on the client account related to any lost/churned services or clients.
- Liaise with client service delivery team to ensure best quality of service.
- Manage client communiqué and updates on changes in services and new offerings.
- Ensure that all company protocols in the sales process and communication is followed.
- Co-ordinate the issuing of client refunds – credit notes where applicable
- Escalate and highlight client issues to Senior Management when needed.
- Implement and managing client loyalty programs.
- Give product and service presentations to external and internal clients.
- Client visits – meeting key decision makers, studying and understanding their requirements to offer useful solutions.
- Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Education background
- Bachelors in business/IT, Management or any related field.
Relevant Experience
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in sales, preferably in telecom/data center/IT area is a must.
- Experience in Account Management
- Must have both – the sales skills and technical knowledge to make presentations and lead customer discussions to advance the sales process.
- Proven work experience as an account manager or key account manager
- Solid sales experience in B2B environment
- Hands on experience with CRM software and account management systems
- Understanding of sales performance metrics
- An ability to address client requests in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building strong client relationships.
- Strong negotiation skills with a problem-solving attitude
- Desire to continually achieve or over-achieve on goals.
- Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and team player attitude essential
- Availability to travel as needed.
