About Organisation:

Lugazi Diocese with support from Makerere University Walter Reed project through a system strengthening approach to improve HIV and TB Prevention. care and treatment services is implementing a comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention Care and Treatment program in collaboration with Local Government structures. Faith Based Organizations. Community Based Organizations (CBO) Ministry of Health, Ministry of Gencer Labour and Social Development and other partners in the districts Of Buvuma, Mukono, Buikwe, Luwero and Nakasongola.

Job Summary:   The Social Economics Strengthening Officer will provide technical leadership and support in tile implementation of Social Economics Strengthening (SEE) interventions that result in reduction of vulnerability and sustainable improvement in the economic status and overall health of communities across the districts of operation. The incumbent will support sustainable economic growth f the AGYWS and support to access to market

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• The SEE officer will provide technical leadership to ensure provision of high-quality SEE services by the project and Empower Artisans with current trends and knowledge about competing products on the market
• Provide technical support to the CBOs, vocational traders and artisans to provide high quality products that can compete wed the current mates
• Monitor SES services and meet al set target through supportive supervision. building their capacity during on-job mentorship, training workshops and Wier platforms.
• Identity and introduce high impact innovations to Improve efficiency. coverage, and achievement of set targets
• Benchmark performance in the assigned thematic area with other implementing mechanisms, to ensure quick translation of lessons learnt and best practices into implementation.
• Participate in the development adoption and dissemination of new program policies, guidelines. strategies and innovations to ensure implementation is in alignment with the latest standards.
• Ensure that the West SEE guidelines and policies are available to and utilized by the project district and community teams.
• Support AGYWS access to markets from within the communities and beyond
• Work with the VSLA trainers to ensure that AGYWS are able to make savings

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related field
• Leadership certificate as an added advantage
• Excellent written and oral communications skills.
• Ability to meet very tight deadlines.
