Job Title:  Telecom Engineer – EACOP (Several Positions)

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare drawing, Specification, BOM, datasheets and other engineering documents.
• Supervision of construction and hookup activities for telecom equipment.
• Perform test and commissioning as per functional test sheets and Site acceptance test.
• Be the interface between site activities and engineering and project management team.
• Review and markup block diagram, interconnection drawing and cabinet wiring diagram as per commissioning.
• Prepare as built drawings and documentations.
• Be familiar with Project procedures and national & international standards.
• Develop knowledge in the technology and interfaces with other technical groups.
• Attend short and long-term training programs provided by Contractor (abroad and in-country)
• Assist the construction team during site works.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Ugandan Citizen holding a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications engineering and membership of a related Professional Institution or body.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas, transportation, telecommunication, or heavy industry projects. Engineers with 5 years or more of experience will be considered as Senior.
• Knowledge of at least 2 systems below: PAGA, IP PABX, LAN/WAN, WIFI, Firewall, Radio systems, OTN, SDH/PDH, Master Clock, RADAR, AIS, CCTV, Access control System, intrusion detection system and telecom monitoring system.
• Cisco or cybersecurity certification will be an added advantage.
• Ability to travel abroad as and when required.
• Good interpersonal and communications skills & Competency in written/oral communication.
• Proficient in MS Office applications and autocad/visio.
