Job Summary: We are looking for a motivated and capable Revolving Regional Operations Leader who will enable us to expand our business across Uganda. As a Revolving Regional Operations Leader, you will be responsible for maximizing sales and operational efficiency across multiple regions by providing strategic planning and execution. Support various locations in the absence of the Regional Operations Leader, ensuring smooth operations and achievement of sales targets. Investigate, train, and mentor MRs and MOs, enhancing their performance and company profitability. Adapt to dynamic sales needs and undertake special projects to drive business growth.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Managerial Responsibilities
- Implement the company’s Vision, Mission, Values, and policies at the regional level, providing leadership and motivation to all employees.
- Develop regional strategies for sales, marketing, and operations; execute these strategies and share results and necessary measures promptly.
- Oversee all operations in responsible regions, including sales and marketing, collaborating with customer support, supply chain, engineering, and accounting.
- Plan, select, contract, and manage MRs required in regional operations to achieve operational targets. Train and mentor MRs and MOs, monitoring the improvement and making decisions on continuing or discontinuing contracts.
- Strategize ways to increase profitability and propose realistic measures to management.
- Compile regular summaries of sales and other activities in the responsible regions, providing insights and prospects to the Operations Manager.
- Manage customer relations directly in the field where necessary.
- Plan, execute, and monitor expenses and costs in responsible regions to achieve regional profitability in alignment with the Operations Manager.
- Provide accountability and prompt the teams to do the same.
Functional Responsibilities:
Sales in the Region
- Develop and implement sales strategies in line with WASSHA’s strategic objectives and ensure achievement.
- Monitor daily and weekly sales of all agents in the region and take remedial action to meet and exceed monthly sales targets on all KPIs.
- Understand field-level circumstances, including regional, district, village, and agents’ specific conditions.
- Focus on direct voices from agents and customers, resolving issues where necessary.
- Track and review Agent Sales Weekly and design corrective actions where necessary.
- Conduct monthly and weekly reviews, making relevant and specific recommendations for action to management.
- Identify new sales opportunities and focus sales efforts to capitalize on such opportunities.
Managing the Operations of the MOs/MRs
- Lead a team of Field Training Officers, Marketing Representatives, and Marketing Officers, maximizing their performance through strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, a positive attitude, high energy levels, and a tenacious yet diplomatic approach.
- Identify, recruit, and train new Marketing Representatives and Officers to ensure they can work in the field with minimal supervision.
- Plan and share daily activities for Marketing Representatives and Officers in a timely manner.
- Closely monitor Marketing Representatives and Officers to ensure planned daily activities are executed successfully.
- Train and follow up with agents, MRs, and MOs to improve satisfaction levels.
- Ensure correct calculation of Marketing Representative and Officer fees and accurate capture of payment details to avoid errors and omissions.
- Ensure that contracts for Marketing Representatives and Officers are up to date and renewed timely.
Flexibility and Agility:
- Support multiple locations, providing consistent sales coverage and quick responses to emerging sales opportunities or challenges.
- Adapt to various needs and challenges in the sales landscape, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to company policies.
Special Projects:
- Undertake special projects such as launching new products, conducting market research, or implementing new sales initiatives.
Market Intelligence:
- Gather and relay valuable market intelligence and customer feedback to inform sales strategies and product development.
Alignment with the CSO Team:
- Work closely with the customer support team to resolve Agent issues promptly.
- Monitor weekly sales to identify Agents due for commission and confirm amounts with the CSO team and the Operations Manager.
- Communication with SCM and Engineers:
- Coordinate with SCM and engineering teams to align stock levels and ensure smooth delivery and operations to the warehouses.
- Select optimal and strategic positions for warehouses and consider delivery methods and costs to execute plans.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in any field
- Minimum level of experience required to perform effectively in the role is 3 years
- Previous experience in data analysis and interpretation.
- Previous experience as a salesman in a solar company is of added advantage.
