Job Summary:  The Project Program Officer supports the implementation of WITU’s digital skills training and employment program for young women. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Officer will play a crucial role in executing project activities, coordinating with stakeholders, and contributing to the program’s success.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operations
  • Assist in the day-to-day execution of the digital skills training program, including coordinating schedules, logistics, and curriculum development.
  • Provide support and guidance to program partners and participants throughout their training journey.
  • Help build and maintain relationships with employers, assisting in organizing job fairs and networking events.
  • Collect and manage program data, prepare reports, and contribute to program evaluation and improvement efforts.
  • Liaise with trainers, mentors, and partners to ensure smooth program delivery.
  • Support budget management and expense tracking.
  • Assist in fundraising efforts by contributing to proposal development and impact reporting.
  • Be a contact person for each partner in the program, ensuring the partner is aligned with the project implementation and is on track.
  • Stakeholder Management and Communication
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners, employers, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the program and its graduates.
  • Represent WITU in relevant forums and discussions.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Identify and implement innovative approaches to digital skills training and job placement.
  • Collect and incorporate feedback from employers and graduates to improve the program.
  • Optimize the use of technology, including the WITU New Graduate Job Board.
  • Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
  • Contribute to Implementation of WITU’s RBM tools to assess program impact and generate data for decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote the program and its graduates.
  • Represent WITU in relevant forums and discussions.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in either Business or Management is required or equivalent.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in similar roles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Understanding of the Project Management Institute (PMI) framework.
  • Understanding of the Results Based Management Framework (RBM).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to delegate effectively.
  • Time management skills.
  • Strong training and facilitation skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
