Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation -Uganda (Baylor-Uganda) is an indigenous not-for-profit child health and development organisation affiliated to the Baylor College of Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI), a Network of paediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment Children’s Clinical Centres of Excellence and international program offices in 11 countries across Africa and Eastern Europe.
Job Summary: The Project Manager will manage the implementation of global health security project activities, including providing technical support for GHSA-related activities, managing work plans and budgets, monitoring project implementation, strategic planning for GHSA, mobilizing resources, and leading/supervising staff.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in project work planning, budgeting, implementation, and performance management.
- Support the PD in monitoring the implementation of systems/policies/SOPs to ensure project compliance with Baylor Foundation Uganda and donor regulations.
- Manage a diverse team of project staff.
- Provide technical assistance and support to national and sub-national teams.
- Support the PD in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships and networks between BFU and relevant development partners and implementing partners to enhance the growth and sustainability of GHSA.
- Participate in resource mobilization activities, including grant writing.
- Develop and lead the implementation of innovative approaches to implementing GHSA activities.
- Support the Ministry of Health in the implementation of the national action plan for health security and implementation of the IHR Monitoring and Evaluation Framework
- Coordinate project report writing and ensure timely submission.
- Coordinate knowledge management of the project, including documentation and dissemination of best practices.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A master’s degree in a health-related field. Postgraduate or master’s in project management or advanced Field Epidemiology training is an added advantage.
- At least seven (7) years of working experience, with four (4) years of program experience at the managerial/coordinator level in a reputable organization.
