About Organisation:

The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM), established by ten Vice Chancellors in 2004, is a consortium of universities in Africa. As of December 2022, membership stands at 170 universities in 40 countries. RUFORUM is registered as an International NGO (FORR78950) in Uganda and coordinated by a Secretariat hosted at Makerere University in Kampala. The organization evolved from its predecessor, the Forum on Agricultural Resource Husbandry (FORUM) program of the Rockefeller Foundation.

Job Summary:   The PO Digital Academy seeks to support RUFORUM’s aspiration to deliver transformative online learning programs that is person centered, leverages continental and international expertise to drive unique learning experiences and skills acquisition across diverse spectrum of learnings including students-TVETs, undergraduate, masters and doctoral, and advance continuous professional education among post-doctoral fellows, researchers, and university leaders and other persons in management positions. The PO Digital Academy will work closely with subject matter experts and instructors to develop and refine course content, ensuring it meets the target audience’s needs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the development/conversion of curricular & learning courses and content creation, delivery approaches, assessment methodologies, delivery tools & multimedia that promotes person centered learning in alignment with industry trends.
• Collaborate with other e-learning academies in universities and partners to co-design, co-deliver and achieve economies of scale and scope for knowledge and skills delivery.
• Develop compelling messages and utilize online advertising, social media, email marketing, and partnerships to Generate interest and enrollments through a marketing campaign targeting the relevant audiences.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance the curriculum to incorporate emerging technologies, industry best practices, and evolving market demands including adopting AI.
• Build and maintain relationships across the RUFORUM Network, industry partners, associations, and relevant stakeholders to support the academy’s growth and ensure relevance to the universities and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with external experts and guest speakers to enhance the learning experience.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Master’s degree with demonstrated, relevant and qualifying professional experience in learning technologies, educational methodologies including curricular design, pedagogy & andragogy skills.
• At least 5 years of continuous working experience in the relevant field.
• Progress professional experience in (i) developing e-learning courses; (ii) digital design and rendering of educational content, (iii) developing educational resources and materials suited to face-to-face training, (iv) organizing learning events, (v) communication design, and (iv) using authoring (storyboarding) software and tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders, instructors, and participants Ability to stay updated with industry advancements, analyze market trends, identify industry gaps, and liaise with the instructors to develop relevant course content
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
