Job Summary: We are now looking for Payroll Manager who is responsible for end-to-end Payroll of Sub-Saharan Africa (all entities), monthly payroll utilization and automated payroll systems.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing the team to ensure end to end payroll of employees (Sub-Saharan Africa-all entities), collection of input from different platforms and manage the team to prepare the payroll input for submission to payroll vendor.
  • Validate that the team reconcile the payroll received from payroll vendor with the input submitted.
  • Review the bank file checking and review approval from respective People Business Partner and ensure it is submitted to the finance team for budgeting and payment processing.
  • Coordinate with payroll vendor in delivering timely payslip and other statutory reports.
  • Ensure that the reconciliation of the social security, tax reports, pension are completed by the team and coordinate with the auditors for monthly/quarterly/annual submission.
  • Ensure the submission of the JVs and other reports to finance by the team are on time.
  • Ensure the filling of the SOX and ABC controls are completed on monthly basis.
  • Ensuring the team updates payroll archives and that they are kept up to date with all the payroll related information.
  • Ensuring the team completes reconciliation of monthly payroll in detail and highlight the differences and confirms reason for differences.
  • Ensures the team prepare monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
  • Ensures the team completes a reconciliation of monthly GL reports with the payroll JV reports.
  • Ensures the preparation of End of service settlement and support exit management.
  • Support different audit and ensure the team submits the audit related data on time.
  • Support People Business Partner and Total Reward in preparing different People and payroll related activities/projects. PAYEE, restructuring, provisions etc.
  • Participate in different projects related to payroll.
  • Coordinate with payroll vendors on monthly payroll operations and make sure all the information submission is on time and vendor adhering the deadlines.
  • Update payroll work instructions.
  • Support all payroll team members and plan their competence related to payroll.
  • Ensure ongoing accuracy of the Sub-Saharan Africa all entities, payroll and benefits utilizing external suppliers.
  • Ensure the team and payroll vendor maintain compliance with local legislation and regulations as well as support internal People policies.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Competence Requirements:

  • Excellent understanding of Sub-Saharan Africa (all entities) payroll processes, JVS, Social security, pension and tax submission process of Sub-Saharan Africa countries.
  • Good knowledge of working with finance on payroll related accounting and GL booking.
  • Good Excel and Analytical skills.
  • Sensitive to high level confidential information
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of using SAP SuccessFactors is a plus.
  • Fluency in French language is a plus.

Experience

  • 5-7 years of end-to-end Sub-Saharan Africa (all entities), payroll processing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Statutory submission of social security, pension and tax.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of local labor laws of in-scope countries.
  • Experience working in a matrix organization.
