Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a commitment to accuracy, integrity, and a proactive approach to managing finances.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Financial Record Management: Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Invoicing and Receipting: Generate and manage invoices, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing for all clients.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and corporate tax filings.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Expense Management: Monitor and manage company expenses, ensuring they are within budget and properly documented.
- Audit Preparation: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in a service-oriented industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with the URA EFRIS system is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations in Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya & South Sudan.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
