Job Summary:   We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires a commitment to accuracy, integrity, and a proactive approach to managing finances.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Financial Record Management: Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Invoicing and Receipting: Generate and manage invoices, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing for all clients.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and corporate tax filings.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Expense Management: Monitor and manage company expenses, ensuring they are within budget and properly documented.
  • Audit Preparation: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an accountant, preferably in a service-oriented industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with the URA EFRIS system is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations in Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya & South Sudan.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
