Job Summary: The Senior Manager – Product Development is responsible for the strategy and overseeing the creation and launch of new products, enhancements to existing products & services, solutions and strategies within MTN Mobile Money ecosystem.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify new product enhancements across the different segments to keep MTN MoMo at the digital forefront of mobile Application innovations.
- Proactively researching and leveraging on emerging technologies to improve high volume product journeys and overall MoMo Products UI/UX.
- Determine demand feasibility and viability of new digital & smart Mobile Money Products for customers
- Creating user interface designs, coding, and testing mobile applications.
- Collaborating with design, development, and marketing teams to ensure the quality and usability of products & mobile applications.
- Ensure mobile applications are aligned to the different segments and take action to maintain and increase usage to maximize MFS Products ARPUs.
- Analyzing application performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Responsible for development, maintenance of the design and delivery of business-critical applications across Group FINCO to meet current and future enterprise software and application needs.
- Working closely with the business & technology teams to troubleshoot digital & smart application issues, providing technical support and the management of third-party Financial and Technology Service providers.
- Agile Projects delivery, supervision and management of inhouse & third-party MFS Products and Services providers.
- Monitoring Mobile applications & digital services’ performance, i.e., uptime, penetration, and usage, and provide periodic written reports/feedback and responding to customer feedback.
- Work with the Go2Market teams to suggest new Marketing plans to enhance usage for new and existing products.
- Play a key stakeholder management role on the different cross-functional teams involved in developing and managing new and existing digital Mobile Financial Products.
- Develop and present user requirement specifications, product roadmaps, business cases, and product positioning documents on the Mobile Money products & services roadmap.
- Establishing best practices and standards for mobile application development to effectively support sales and other stakeholders to keep them abreast of the latest products and market information in the digital mobile smart applications space.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or any other related field
- Relevant post-graduate qualification is an advantage.
- Relevant Certifications

- Creative strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the Fintech industry and a passion for creating innovative new products that meet customer needs.
- Technology proficiency in relevant technologies, material, and a good understanding of product design and development methodologies.
- Adaptability with changing market conditions and customer needs with ability to pivot quickly if a product is not performing well and be willing to adjust the development process as needed.
- Strong leadership skills with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate a fast-paced team.
- Work experience across diverse cultures and geographies
- Flexibility and ability to handle stress with good planning and organization skills.
- Excellent Strategic Planning & Business analytical skills + Pricing
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

- Experience in managing IT delivery teams.
