Job Summary: The Manager Business Development is responsible for growth and retention of studentship and membership as well as the Institute’s Image and Brand. The job holder is responsible for development and implementation of marketing strategies that enhance the customer experiences for all stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee membership and studentship growth, registration, development and retention.
- Develop, implement and monitor the Institute’s marketing plan.
- Coordinate services to the Institute’s students, members and other stakeholders.
- Promote the Institute’s image and brand.
- Manage engagement and communication functions of the Institute to achieve set objectives.
- Responsible for the implementation of an image database to meet needs of Communications, Relations and Events Teams.
- Coordinate and manage the Institute’s events.
- Continuously scans the environment for emerging trends, opportunities, and threats.
- Develop, implement and monitor the departmental plans and budgets.
- Implement appropriate risk management in the department.
- Build and manages relationships with the Institute’s stakeholders ensuring that customer satisfaction is achieved in a way that reflects the values and status of ICPAU.
- Collaborate with other Institute units to foster a culture of innovation.
- Supervise line staff.
- Provide administrative support to the Committees responsible for Members Services, Marketing and Events Management.
- Carry out any other duties as requested by Secretary/CEO.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in a business-related field
- Postgraduate qualification in business development, strategy or marketing is an added advantage
- Professional Certification in Marketing of accountancy is an added advantage
- Experience: At least seven (7) years of relevant experience.
- Experience of best practices in Communications and Marketing methodologies, strategies and emerging practices.
- Experience of communicating with regulators and assisting with regulatory inquiries.
- Experience in Relations and Events Management
- Experience of marketing through multiple channels
- Experience of working in a commercially-led role.
- Excellent public presentation and interaction skills.
