Job Summary: Quality Plastics (U) LTD is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lathe Machine Operator to join our dynamic team. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up the lathe machine for operation, ensuring proper alignment and calibration of tools and workpieces.
- Choose appropriate raw materials based on project specifications and ensure
- they meet quality standards.
- Reading Blueprints: Interpret and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering plans to accurately produce components.
- Tool Selection: Select the right cutting tools, inserts, and attachments for specific jobs, considering material type and machining requirements.
- Secure workpieces onto the lathe machine using clamps, bolts, or other appropriate fixtures to prevent movement during machining.
- Operate both manual and CNC lathe machines to perform turning, facing, grooving, threading, and other machining operations according to project requirements.
- Precision Machining: Achieve precise measurements and tolerances by adjusting machine settings, feeds, speeds, and tool offsets as necessary.
- Regularly inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specified quality standards, adjusting the machine or process as needed.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to tool wear, machine malfunctions, or quality deviations, and take corrective actions.
- Perform routine maintenance on lathe machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and replacement of worn components to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum Experience: 5+ years as Lathe Machine Operator.
- Minimum Education: Certificate/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Excellent knowledge in English (verbal and written).
- Good Knowledge of MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good knowledge of applicable standards, local rules and regulations.
