Key Accounts Supervisor-Modern Trade

 

Job Summary:   The Key Accounts Supervisor-Modern Trade acts as a role model for the Modern Trade merchandising Section in the Sales and Marketing Department. They guide the merchandisers on how to execute their duties according to the standards set by the management. The supervisor’s presence should be felt in the field and he or she should keep a good image. The Key accounts supervisors sort out any pending issues by ensuring customer satisfaction throughout a continuous business relationship

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • They should be able to see trends in the market and forward ideas to the management.
  • Ensuring availability of Key items hand in hand with the sales Executive.
  • Ensuring that stock is always available on shelf at the right time and in the right/sufficient quantities
  • Following up on deliveries made by the sales rep and distributor
  • Generating orders daily and ensuring it is supplied
  • Coordinating supplies between the depot and Key accounts outlets.
  • Ensuring quality and fresh products on shelf always.
  • Floor issues
  • Products should be sold at the company recommended retail price and price tags should be visible
  • Eye/hand level visibility that must be maintained it is not a one-day show
  • Know your product and its content so that you can convince people to buy it and list it in their shops. Explaining all the benefits
  • Create floor displays around FIFO and ensuring all short expiries are retrieved based on the short expiry policy and coordinate with the supplier for retrieval. Resort to Head of department if necessary.
  • Maintaining positive and long-lasting relationships with line supervisors and supermarket managers to generate more sales volume and profits

Market research

  • Notifying about competitor’s activities: what are they doing better than us and what are we doing better than them?
  • Monitor price changes in the market and forecast the impact of such activities
  • Monitoring Riham products shelf off take and generate an analysis regarding the same
  • Analyzing aspects of slow-moving items
  • Suggesting promotional activities and mechanisms that could be used to promote our products

Customer service

  • Liaising with supermarkets, stores personnel, suppliers (distributors) & line attendants
  • Interacting with supermarkets in order to get our strengths & weaknesses and respond to their concerns accordingly
  • Interacting with end users and raising awareness of the quality of our brands
  • Preparing reports
  • Live location at 08:30am and 5:30pm evidenced with pictures of activities.
  • Daily activities report within the scheduled time frame
  • Reports on improvements and declines in route performance and suggestions.
  • Reports about merchandisers efficiency and sales Executives
  • Submitting route plan and honoring the route, door to door by visiting all outlets on the route and ensuring company policy is observed.

Team efficiency

  • Monitoring live location early in the morning and ensuring the route is being honored
  • Ensuring that the team uses GPS map camera when reporting their daily activities
  • Performing random location checks
  • Giving detailed reports about how to mentor merchandisers and prepare them for training
  • Having harmony in the team and ensuring that merchandisers know what is expected of them
  • Training of merchandisers in order to leave a positive impact
  • Ensuring that merchandisers are using the daily checklist and are complying to the company’s various policies.
  • Prepare and participate in all corporate events acquired by the management




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in business studies with Major in Marketing, Public Administration and Business Administration or equivalent from a reputable Institution.
  • Experience: At least 3-5 years hands-on in the Supervisory role in Sales and Marketing in a busy working environment.
  • Familiar with the sale of beverages and a problem solver with high customer care services.
  • Basic knowledge of how sales are done in the market with interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and monitoring of subordinates.
  • Excellent in Leadership and supervisory skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
