Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Radio Network Planning

  • Coordinate with Business and finalize the Rollout locations with priority based on the feedback from the field, comparing the competitor presence and plans and potential of the locations.
  • Forecast the number and location of the capacity sites, based on the business input like the growth of subscribers, data usage and Minutes of usage etc.

Transport Network Planning

  • End to End Planning of Transport Network (OFC and MW requirements).
  • Plan the backhaul network based on the RF requirement of BW per site depending on Top towns, Rest of the network Available RF Freq bands etc.
  • Preparing necessary capex proposals with BOQ and getting required approvals from corporate.
  • Monitoring the network utilisation and initiating necessary augmentations in the Transport Network.

Network Optimization

  • Manage the team for Optimising the new Rollout sites and Towns.
  • Ensure regular soft and physical optimization for all Nodes across the Circle.
  • Ensure RAN NW quality is always at the highest level.

Spectrum Management

  • Advise the Management on the quantum of spectrum required for the proposed business plan for future growth.
  • Keep track of spectrum held by competition and highlight its impact on competitiveness of the company to the Management.

Capex Planning

  • Plan the Network Capex requirement after getting the Business Projections.
  • Coordinate with Corporate for optimizing the Capex.
  • Follow up for Capex clearance, Ordering and PO release and Equipment delivery.
  • Re-engineering of Network Parameters
  • Re-engineering of Network parameters for 2G and 4G Networks) based on the Network expansions.

Capacity site planning

  • Forecast the number and location of the capacity site, based on the business input like the number of sales, Minutes of usage etc for the FY.
  • New Technology Testing
  • Coordinate the testing of new technology to support network growth and thereby business.

Team Development & Knowledge Impartment

  • Responsible for team building.
  • Ensure team development by providing classroom and on job trainings on latest technologies.
  • On boarding of right team members.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • 15-20 years of relevant work experience in MVNE, MVNO or MNO with experience in cross functional teams.
  • Experience in RF planning and optimisation, preferably with a medium or large size MNO.
  • Domain Knowledge and understanding of futu MIS, Engineering, or related field competency in working in MVNE/MVNO/MNO.
  • Demonstrated capability to leads decision-making & delivering results.
  • Analytical Thinking.
  • Ability to Build Team Commitment.
  • Proven track record of success in a previous Telecoms role.
  • Be able to engage and inspire others, develop talented people.
  • Experience in agile development and creating test & learn environments.
  • Experience of service delivery and delivering to agreed SLA’s.
  • Budget management.
  • Experience of outlining security and IT policies and ensuring systems data and security compliance.
  • Managing and developing an in-house IT team whilst maintaining culture.
  • Be able to articulate risk management and issue resolution.
  • Stakeholder management and the ability to translate technology to business.
  • Strategic thinking with a good level of business acumen.
  • Able to effectively lead and influence at all levels.
  • Manage team performance, undertaking regular individual reviews to reflect achievements against targets.
  • Dedication to continuous improvement in staff and technology Experience in evaluating equipment of different vendors.
