Adara Development is on a mission to strengthen Maternal, Newborn and Child Health services in Uganda. They are scaling their evidence-based, high-impact Adara Newborn model across 10 health facilities to halve maternal and newborn deaths and stillbirths.
Job Summary: This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as the Director of MNCH for Adara Development (Uganda). As the leader of Adara’s Uganda operations, the Director will be responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of Adara’s MNCH strategy. They will ensure the delivery of high-quality programming, foster strong partnerships, and provide exceptional financial management and governance. Leading a team of 18 people and acting a key member of Adara’s Global Leadership Team, this role will be instrumental in achieving Adara’s ambitious vision.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., medicine, nursing, public health, social work, international development, business management, administration or finance).
- Formal clinical training, practice and background in either maternal, newborn or child health
- 10+ years’ experience in a leadership role within a large or international organisation.
- Extensive experience with strategic planning, leadership and people management, quality improvement, project management and planning, monitoring and evaluation, and financial management.
- Proven clinical and programme experience working in the delivery of maternal and child health service delivery programs
- Fluency in Luganda and in spoken and written English to tertiary level.
- Comfortable working at both strategic and operational level.
- Ability to work cross-culturally and across different time zones, sometimes out of regular business hours.
