About Organisation:
Oil Palm Uganda Limited is a joint venture between Wilmar international, Josovina of Singapore, Bidco Uganda Limited and the Government of the republic of Uganda. Oil Palm Uganda Limited (OPUL) has established over 6,500 hectares of oil palm supported by over 4,500 hectares of small holder farmers on Kalangala Bugala Island with two palm oil mills of 20TPH capacity. Replicating the Kalangala model, we are also undergoing development of new nucleus and small holder’s estates in Masaka, Kyotera and Buvuuma.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing the recruitment process especially the local staff
- Updating of Staff Payroll together with Finance department.
- Processing of work permits for the expatriate staffs from Immigration department under ministry of Internal Affairs.
- Responsible for staff Welfare for all staffs.
- Carryout staff appraisals annually for performance purposes
- Management of the Medical scheme in the company (Company Clinic).
- Preparing and issuing Ids to staffs.
- Ensuring compliance of Company policies by all staffs both local and Expatriates.
- Management of disciplinary proceedings in the company.
- Handling conflicts at the work place.
- Preparing and keeping track of the leaves i.e. annual. sick leaves etc.
- Tracking late comers through the use of geometric machine
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A graduate with an Honours Degree in Human Resource Management, or Organizational Psychology or a related field
- At least five years of experience in human resource management in an organization that has a large workforce.
- Avery organized individual with excellent time management skills, the ability to analyze information quickly, and good problem-solving skills:
- Should be familiarized with the local employment laws
- Ability to relate with all levels of staff and management within the organization.
