Job Title:  Senior Graphics Designer

About Organisation:

Graphic Systems Uganda Limited is the largest printing & packaging company in Uganda. It supplies indoor and outdoor print advertising collateral, commercial printing, cartons, labels and promotional items. In addition the company manufactures corporate wear and garments. Product line: Commercial Printing (books, posters, flyers, carnets), Large Format printing (billboards, pull up banners, tear drops), Garmenting (corporate uniforms, customized t-shirts, polos, overalls) and promotional giveaway items (USBs, mugs, agendas, etc.)

Job Summary:   The primary objective is to collaborate with cross functional teams to conceptualise and execute innovative design solutions that align with the demands of the client. The ideal candidate should have a strong portfolio demonstrating their proficiency in graphic design across various mediums including industrial print, large format print, commercial print and digital print.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conceptualize and create engaging visual content for print and digital platforms.
• Lead design projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines and project timelines.
• Collaborate closely with marketing and production departments to understand project requirements and deliver impactful design solutions.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior designers, fostering their growth and development within the team.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practises to continuously improve design quality and innovation.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail.
• Present design concepts and ideas to stakeholders, incorporating feedback to refine and finalize designs.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• The Senior Graphics Designer should hold a Bachelor’ Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Art or related field.
• Experience: 5/6 years of professional experience in industrial print design/commercial print design with knowledge on label printing and a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects.
• Linguistic skills: Fluent in English (Spoken & Written)
• Age: Above 30 Years
• Citizen: Preferably Ugandan National

Key Skills:

• Proficiency in Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and other relevant design tools.
• Excellent understanding of topography, color theory, layout and visual hierarchy.
• Strong conceptual thinking and creative problem solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Experience in Label print design.
• Ability to output CTP/CTCP Plates.
• Knowledge of plate processors and exposer.
• Ability to RIP & Roam files.
• Experience working with an agency or creative studio environment.

Remuneration: Salary is negotiable.
