Job Summary: The Product Manager, Liabilities is responsible for product lifecycle management, innovation and enhancements of products and customer value propositions. The incumbent will manage partner relationships and marketing campaigns to better deliver products and services that meet the overall strategic and financial goals of retail banking.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive end-to-end the product development initiatives for liabilities that include Idea generation, definition, design, validation to commercialisation in line with the overall bank strategy.
- Drive the sales and marketing agenda for liabilities through marketing communications campaigns and promotions, staff training, collaboration with cross functional teams, competitive analysis, market research, process efficiency work streams and mining of data to identify sales opportunities.
- Manage the pricing, profitability, and revenue for assigned product lines.
- Manage income leakage issues by performing periodic revenue assurance exercises on all liability products.
- Manage the customer experience on process and turnaround time, customer
- value propositions that suite the needs and aspirations of the customer.
- Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly progress dashboards and liabilities and channels product performance reports in line with the set targets on revenue and balance sheet.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years’ banking experience, 2 of which should have been at a managerial level in product management.
- Professional Qualifications, PMC/CIM is an added advantage.
- Proven track record in development and management of Banking /Financial services products.
- Good knowledge of key product marketing principles.
- Product and financial training.
- Business and Industrial awareness.
- Revenue generation initiatives
- Project management skills
- Good interpersonal skills necessary for collaboration with other teams for implementation of activities.
- Team player and ability to work with minimum supervision. A solutions-oriented mindset.
- Strong analytical, problem- solving, decision-making, financial management and budget planning skills.
- Computer literate (MS Office Suite including MS- Excel)
