Job Title:  Network and Security Solutions Engineer

Job Summary:   This is a full-time on-site role as a Network and Security Solutions Engineer based in Kampala. The Network Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day enterprise network solutions design, deployment, administration, troubleshooting, cybersecurity solutions design, deployment, troubleshooting and administration

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design and implement functional enterprise network infrastructure and systems using correct network diagrams and documentation
• Analyze and confirm the information demands and functional requirements in collaboration with internal teams and customers
• Adopt network security measures after organizing, planning, and safeguarding data, software, and hardware at customers’ sites.
• Monitor network performance to identify necessary adjustments and improvements
• Cooperate with technology suppliers to offer business-focused solutions
• Provide technical leadership to teams working on deployment and support
• Ensure the stability of the working environment before, during, and after system updates
• Establish and maintain strong cross-functional working connections with corporate and local teams
• Resolve issues escalated by lower support tiers and provide support for those tiers as needed
• Configure firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network security and efficiency
• Utilize online resources and documentation to gain knowledge about new or unfamiliar technology
• Design and implement complex cybersecurity solutions like SIEM, EDR, NDR, MDR, SOAR, NAC, DLP, DDoS etc
• Must have sized and deployed Firewall appliances like Sophos, FortiGate, Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower etc

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• At least five years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar role with Bachelors Degree in any ICT Professional
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
• Must have at least five years of experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
• Must have the following certifications CCNA, CCNP ENTERPRISE and NSE4/ Fortinet Certified Professional Network Security or Security Operations
• Experience in network management and design
• Network Administration and Network Engineering skills
• Troubleshooting expertise
• Network Security knowledge
• Network Design proficiency
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems
