Job Summary:  The Mechanical Fitter will ensure proper maintenance of mechanical equipment and hence maximum reliability of equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Adhere to the company Health and Safety policies as well as ensure adherence of OSHA Act in all the operations by employees and contractors.
• Ensure compliance to our environment policy and standards to carry out maintenance activities in a manner that would cause minimum impact to the environment.
• Perform all maintenance tasks in the section as allocated using well planned execution work orders, with less than 5% TYD overall repetitive tasks.
• Carry out Belt Vulcanising both cold and hot; to ensure belt conveyors run with high reliability.
• Make proposals to modify or improve equipment for better performance or safety improvements to the supervisor.
• Participate and implement action plans for Root Cause Analysis.
• Perform energy isolation prior to working on equipment as per procedure or as evaluated on the Risk Assessment.
• Assist in training of apprentices and others when required.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• Five years of related work experience.
• Strong in troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• High levels of Integrity.
• Innovative
