Job Summary: Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Intelligence Officer will play a pivotal role in supporting strategic decision-making by analyzing market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior within the automotive industry. By leveraging data-driven insights, they will contribute to developing marketing strategies, product positioning, and overall business growth initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have experience in research, data analysis, and presentation, with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for staying abreast of industry trends and customer behaviors.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a thorough analysis of automotive market trends, including industry dynamics, consumer preferences, and emerging technologies.
  • Monitor and analyse competitor activities, including product launches, pricing strategies, marketing campaigns, and distribution channels.
  • Gathering and reporting of Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) for grey vehicles imported into the country.
  • Maintain comprehensive databases of competitor information.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to internal stakeholders on competitive positioning.
  • Utilize various research methodologies to understand consumer behaviour, preferences, and purchase patterns.
  • Conduct surveys, focus groups, and interviews to gather qualitative insights from target audiences.
  • Analyse competitor activity, customer feedback, reviews, and social media discussions to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collect, organize, and analyse data from multiple sources, including sales reports, market research studies, and customer databases.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations summarizing key findings, insights, and actionable recommendations for management.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, technological advancements, and analytical tools relevant to marketing intelligence.
  • Attend workshops, conferences, and training programs to enhance analytical skills and domain knowledge.
  • Share insights and learnings with colleagues to foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall goals and objectives of the company.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
  • Two years of proven experience in market research, competitive intelligence, or business analytics within the automotive industry.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, SPSS).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good business acumen and strategic mind-set, passionate about driving continuous improvement and innovation.
  • A confident individual with practical communication skills to convey findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders clearly and compellingly.
  • A curious mind-set and willingness to continuously learn and stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and analytical techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships to achieve common goals.
  • Methodical, well-organised approach to work with high accuracy and attention to detail and processes.
