About Organisation:
Omia Agribusiness Development Group Ltd exists to ensure that every farmer in Africa has access to quality Agricultural Inputs, Technical Support and Profitable Markets. The Company was registered on 16th November, 2016 and actual operations started in July, 2018. The Main Office is on Plot 15A, Rhino Camp Road, Arua City. The Company operates in Uganda and across the East African Region. Current branches are in Adjumani, Yumbe, Paidha-Zombo, Bweyale-Kiryandongo, Sambia-Arua and Container Village Kampala.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Make sure that Affluent Farmers succeed in Agribusiness. Provide dedicated support that will enable them to produce and earn more from the Agribusinesses that they engage in.
- Identify, Engage and retain Affluent farmers. Work with all Omia Agribusiness teams and other value chain actors to identify the farmers. Engage and identify their specific farming needs and make sure they remain happy customers of Omia Agribusiness Development Group Ltd.
- Farmer Support and problem-solving. Prepare detailed profiles for the farmers, document their needs, address and resolve any challenges they might have promptly and gather feedback from them for continuous improvement.
- Sales and Business Development. Align our sales and marketing strategies to meet the expectations of the affluent farmers. This should result into a win-win for the farmers and the company.
- Market and Industry Knowledge. Take time to stay updated on technologies and developments in the agribusiness space. This includes new varieties, new breeds, best field management practices, new projects and interventions etc.
- Product and service customization. Study the specific needs of each affluent farmer and customize what we do to these needs. Make sure that we arrive at a win-win with the affluent farmers.
- Coordination with the other Omia Agribusiness Teams. Make use of the existing Omia Agribusiness infrastructure to serve this specific market niche. Coordinate with all the other departments.
- Reporting and documentation: Detailed and organized profiles and reporting on affluent farmers that we are serving and their performance. Share regular reports with Management.
- Training and farmer Support: Coordinate the specific training and support needs of affluent farmers.
- Networking and Events Management. Organize high level networking events for affluent farmers. Participate in regional and national events
Qualifications Skills and Experience:
- Education: A Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture from a reputable University.
- Agricultural Knowledge: In-depth understanding of agriculture (both crop and animal production), farming practices, and the specific needs of large-scale farmers.
- Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse clients.
- Sales Acumen: Experience in sales, business development, and achieving sales targets.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing client needs and challenges.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information and build rapport with clients.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple clients, tasks, and priorities efficiently.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with ERPs and other relevant tools for managing client relationships and sales processes.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing client needs, market conditions, and company strategies.
- Language Requirements: Main: English. Others: Lugbara, Luo, Kiswahilli, Arabic, Luganda.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of computer work and occasionally field visits.
- The ability to ride a motorcycle and a vehicle is an advantage as the position will involve regular field visits.
