NFT Consult Ltd is a business process outsourcing firm with offices in Uganda, South Africa, Kenya, Botswana Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia, Burundi and South Sudan.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Contract Management through the Dili Trust and Tarantula Property Management Tools:
- Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing all company contracts including Suppliers, Service Providers, Landlords, MNO customers among others.
- Ensure all contracts comply with approved Axian Group company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a centralized repository for all contractual documents and records in the DiliTrust portal and Tarantula portals.
Legal Compliance Monitoring:
- Develop and implement compliance programs to monitor adherence to contractual obligations including but not limited to Anti-Money Laundering/CFT, KYC obligations, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Group Gift Policy, Whistleblowing, Conflict of Interest declarations among many others.
- Conduct regular audits of contracts to ensure compliance with terms and conditions both contractual and from an approved policy perspective.
- Identify and address potential compliance issues or risks associated with all company contracts.
Legal Policy Development with Group Compliance Officer:
- Work together with the Group Compliance Officer to develop, update, and enforce internal policies and procedures related to contract management and compliance.
- Provide guidance and regular training to staff on contract compliance policies and best practices.
Legal Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks in contractual agreements and develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
- Ensure timely resolution of compliance-related issues and disputes.
- Collaborate with legal and risk management teams to address and resolve contract compliance matters.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and present regular reports on contract compliance status and activities to senior management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all compliance activities and findings.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including legal, finance, procurement, and operations teams, to ensure contract compliance.
- Liaise with external parties such as clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies to resolve compliance-related matters.
Training and Development:
- Conduct training sessions for employees on contract compliance requirements and best practices as directed and advised by the Group Compliance team.
- Stay updated on industry trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes affecting contract compliance.
Qualifications Skills and Experience:
- Uganda Law degree required. Admission to the Uganda Bar is an added advantage.
- At least five years of experience PQE serving as a corporate, real estate and transactional attorney.
- Prior experience working for UK, EU, or US-based law firms, or legal education in the US, South Africa, UK, would be a plus.
- Prior real estate law, telecom/carrier and/or mergers & acquisitions experience is especially helpful.
- Excellent understanding of the mobile mast market, key customers and suppliers in Uganda.
- Detailed knowledge of Local Law and Local Policies.
- Excellent ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Good public relations skills (e.g., ability to represent the company and generate positive influence.in the external and internal communities).
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and contribute to team initiatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft (WORD, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Attention to Detail.
- Ability to provide Explicit Reports.
- Strong Decision-making.
- Strong organizational and relationship management skills.
