Job Summary: The Logistician will be responsible for analysing and coordinating the logistical functions for the organization. The Logistician is expected to manage the supply chain, coordinate with suppliers and distributors, and ensure that all products are delivered on time. Responsible for maintaining inventory levels, tracking shipments, and managing logistics budgets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of goods and services.
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and transportation companies to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock levels are maintained to meet project demands.
- To ensure the correct management of purchases, to manage relations with suppliers to provide essential goods and services and to check the quality of local supplies
- To manage, provide documents and obtain customs clearance for the movement of materials for the project ensuring that the procedures defined by HQ regarding the loading and unloading of stores are followed;
- Manage and oversee the logistics team to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of goods and services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including project stakeholders, suppliers, and transportation companies.
- Analyze data and make recommendations for process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations related to logistics operations.
- Prepare and present reports on logistics performance to senior management.
- Manage logistics budgets and ensure expenses are within budgetary constraints.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
- Proven experience as a logistician or in a similar role
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of logistics software
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience in inventory management and control
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and procedures
- Understanding of customs regulations and international trade
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and systems
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
