Job Summary:  The Estates Associates Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment across our farm facilities, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and safety. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and enhancement of GLF’s infrastructure and vehicles while promoting sustainability and environmental stewardship.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and oversee mechanical systems and equipment installations at GLF, including HVAC systems, irrigation systems, agricultural machinery, vehicles, and infrastructure components.
  • Conduct engineering analysis and calculations to support mechanical design decisions, including stress analysis, thermal analysis, and fluid dynamics simulations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to integrate sustainable design principles and energy-efficient technologies into mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for mechanical designs using CAD software, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to procure mechanical components and equipment, evaluating technical specifications, cost estimates, and delivery schedules.
  • Manage mechanical construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to ensure timely completion and within budget constraints.
  • Conduct performance testing and validation of mechanical systems and equipment, analyzing data and identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for mechanical systems and equipment, resolving issues and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in mechanical design and operations.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in mechanical engineering, recommending innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and reliability.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the agricultural, manufacturing, or facilities management industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and techniques, with expertise in HVAC systems, fluid mechanics, and machinery design.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and engineering analysis tools for design, simulation, and modeling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and manage resources to achieve project objectives.
  • Commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency, and environmental stewardship in mechanical design and operations.
  • Attention to detail and quality, with a focus on delivering designs that meet performance requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and work outside regular business hours as needed to support project deadlines and farm operations.
