Job Summary: Talented and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team at GLF. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for overseeing civil engineering projects across our farm facilities, including infrastructure development, site planning, and environmental management. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and sustainability of GLF while promoting eco-friendly practices and enhancing visitor experiences.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and oversee civil engineering projects at GLF, including site development, road construction, drainage systems, and environmental management initiatives.
- Conduct site assessments and surveys to evaluate land conditions, topography, and environmental factors, identifying constraints and opportunities for development.
- Develop project plans, specifications, and cost estimates, coordinating with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.
- Prepare engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications using CAD software, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies and environmental authorities to obtain permits and approvals for construction projects, addressing environmental impact assessments and mitigation measures.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, tracking project progress and performance to ensure timely completion and within budget constraints.
- Conduct quality control inspections and field tests to monitor construction activities and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to construction crews, contractors, and subcontractors, resolving technical challenges and ensuring adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to integrate sustainable design principles and eco-friendly practices into civil engineering projects at GLF.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, construction logs, change orders, and record drawings, for record-keeping and compliance purposes.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- Proven experience in civil engineering project management, preferably in the agricultural, hospitality, or eco-tourism industry.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and techniques, with expertise in site development, infrastructure design, and environmental management.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and engineering design tools for drafting, modeling, and analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and manage resources to achieve project objectives.
- Commitment to safety, environmental sustainability, and regulatory compliance in civil engineering projects.
- Attention to detail and quality, with a focus on delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of workmanship.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel occasionally and work outside regular business hours as needed to support project deadlines and farm operations.
