Adara Development has a mission to bridge the world of business and the world of people in extreme poverty, and to support vulnerable communities with health, education and other essential services. Adara Development is on a mission to strengthen Maternal, Newborn and Child Health services in Uganda. They are scaling their evidence-based, high-impact Adara Newborn model across 10 health facilities to halve maternal and newborn deaths and stillbirths.
Job Summary: This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned finance professional to join Adara Development (Uganda) as the Finance Manager. Based at Kiwoko Hospital. you will oversee the daily financial operations, ensuring effective reporting, compliance, audits, and financial control. You will lead a small team. manage budgets, and maintain robust internal controls. working closely with both local and global teams. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing financial procedures, safeguarding assets, and supporting the organisation’s mission with exceptional financial management and governance.
Qualifications Skills and Experience:
- Degree in Accounting and CPA Qualified
- At least five years of post-qualification experience
- Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, audit, tax and compliance obligations
- Experience managing a small team. and the ability to delegate appropriately. and to coach and mentor finance staff
- Ability to analyse and communicate financial information
- Sound knowledge of the requirements set by the Ugandan Revenue Authority and other relevant regulatory bodies of Uganda
- Sound knowledge of financial management accounting principles
- Strong understanding and ability to demonstrate
- Strong internal controls and procedures
- Sound knowledge of accounting software, preferably Microsoft 365
- Proficient in excel and other Microsoft office suite
- Ability to work cross-culturally and across different time zones, sometimes out of regular business hours.
