Job Summary: The Area Manager will be in charge of Leading to business growth, acquisition, retention, service and relationship management in the specified Sales Region and ensure that the image, brand and name of Bayport Uganda continues to significantly improve within its chosen segment and customer space. The Area Manager will lead all sales, relationships in the region managed and be directly in charge of a group of Branches within the managed area.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To provide direct leadership to a team of Branch Managers and independent sales consultants to ensure that all specified sales expectations are achieved.
- Develop, implement and evaluate strategies to achieve, daily, weekly and monthly sales turnover target in every Branch and region under control.
- To monitor the compliance, implementation and effectiveness of established policies, procedures and internal controls in the branches within the respective region and implement timely incident reporting to determine the level of operational risks.
- To oversee the recruitment and retention of independent Sales and Relationship Consultants in the entire Region under supervision and demonstrate competency in identifying, nurturing, training and leading a young and ambitious sales team.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Branch teams to ensure that regional staff can adequately handle sales with all institutions and government corporations in the region.
- To handle marketing activities, service sales, activations, and promotional campaigns within the specified region in order to ensure achievement of specified company performance objectives within a specified period of time.
- Ensure well trained, competent, and motivated- but also professional teams of Relationship Consultants.
- Proactively lead from the front taking charge of Bayport organized service and sales dialogues, regional financial literacy programs, sales & lead generation meetings while creating opportunities for independent sales contractors in the region.
- To conduct periodic on-site branch supervision and generate reports in line with the regional regular sales and branch operations requirements.
- To submit daily, weekly and monthly reports to your supervisor on the overall business performance and progress on implementation of strategies and plans.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in any business or professional training is desirable with 5 Years sales-relationship management or socio-political Management experience.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Financial Services Industry, three years of which MUST have been at a Regional Management and Department supervisory level in Sales.
- Demonstrate a working and professional Knowledge and understanding of the local geo-eco-politics, languages, civil service vote operation system and cultural settings.
- Demonstrable understanding of the working of Bayport Business model.
- Excellence in leadership with the ability to manage an independent field-based sales team in a strict but informal setting and the ability to motivate performance.
- Excellence in public engagement.
- Highest levels of integrity, Self-drive, smart, energetic and emitting positive energy.
