Job Summary: The Accountant will play a vital role in overseeing the firm’s accounting functions and assisting the Managing Partner in the strategic and operational leadership of the firm. This position requires a skilled and dedicated professional with a solid accounting and financial management background. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing financial tasks while contributing to the firm’s overall strategy and growth.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Accounting and Financial Management
- Oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and reports.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
- Manage cash flow, financial planning, and budgeting processes.
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic planning.
Tax Planning and Management
- Manage all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and reporting.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns and other statutory requirements.
- Provide strategic tax advice to optimize the firm’s tax position and minimize liabilities.
- Ensure all tax accounts are fully reconciled.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the firm’s client base and service offerings.
- Build strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and partners.
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
Operational Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Implement and improve accounting systems, processes, and technologies to enhance operational performance.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets and resource allocation
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
- Proven experience in business development and operational management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
