About Organisation:
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program envisions a transformative network of young people and institutions driving inclusive and equitable socio-economic change in Africa. Since launching in 2012, the Program has supported nearly 45,000 young people in Africa to pursue secondary or tertiary education. The second phase of the Program will offer 1000 Scholarships to young African women and men, admitted to both the Undergraduate and Graduate Academic Programmes at Makerere University Main Campus. The Program aims to deepen inclusive University education and empower the Youth to transform into leaders who will make meaningful contributions to national and regional development.
Job Summary: The Systems Administrator and IT Support Officer shall be responsible for all ICT requirements of the Program, Web Maintenance, and the technical Operations of the Disability Resource unit.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, update and maintenance of the Program Website and all social media platforms, with an emphasis on inclusivity.
- Ensure ICT-enabled Program activities including recruitment, tracer studies, feedback surveys and other Program events.
- Co-ordinate the ICT trainings for Mastercard Foundation Scholars and Staff
- Be responsible for the technical operations of the Disability Support Unit and the students’ assistive devices and technologies
- Co-ordinate the procurement and maintenance of all IT-based equipment and services of the Program.
- Troubleshoot any ICT related problems for the program
- Evaluate related hardware and software products and make recommendations for adoption.
- Liaise with the Directorate for ICT Support (DICTS) office for generation of ICT specifications, requirements and procurements for the program
- Participate in developing Internal local software in liaison with the DICTS.
- Ensure that all of the program’s ICT information is secured and backed up always.
- Undertake periodic internal ICT audits for the program
- Monitor, identify and report any safeguarding concerns that may arise during the Program implementation
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Master’s degree in information systems, information technology, software engineering, computer science or any ICT related program from a recognised university.
- A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or any ICT related program from a recognized University
- At least 5 years’ experience in an ICT-related work with an Organisation/program
- Knowledge of website design and management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suites and other digital tools
- Proficiency in designing, implementing, and analyzing online surveys
- Experience in End-user support provision
- Good knowledge of softwares for inclusive Education
- Good Knowledge of Software and hardware systems management
- Must demonstrate good skills in analysis and report writing
