About US:
The Prisons Act, 2006 provides for the mandate and functions of a Uganda Prisons Service composed of Central and former Local Government Prisons and spells out the duties of the UPS as to protect, promote and fulfill the rights of those incarcerated.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal Agricultural Officer for performing the following duties:-
- Participating in planning and budgeting for the Agriculture Sub-Sector;
- Implementing Agricultural plans, programmes and activities;
- Writing implementation reports for the Sub-Sector;
- Training staff and farmers on new technologies and methods on farming, disease and pest control;
- Sensitizing people on natural disasters;
- Monitoring and evaluating staff performance;
- Promoting proper Agricultural land utilization;
- Monitoring the supply and use of Agricultural inputs;
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture or Agriculture Extension Services from a recognized University/Institution. A post graduate qualification in the above fields will be an added advantage.
- Applicants should have a minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience as an Agricultural Officer in Government.
