Yalelo (U) Limited is a tilapia fish farm that was established in Uganda in 2019. The farm is located in Butembe, Buikwe district on the shores of Lake Victoria. Yalelo Uganda is a subsidiary of First Wave Group B.V; a Dutch company with a portfolio of aquaculture related assets in Africa. First Wave Group owns and operates Yalelo Zambia, a pioneer of Aquaculture founded in 2011 that has grown quickly to become the leading fish farm in Zambia and among the largest aquaculture farms in Africa.
Job Summary: Reporting to the Security Supervisor, the Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety of all company assets, goods, property, and persons at all times
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Thorough search of all trucks and staff bags to ensure security for all.
- Make inquiries about any issues or unknown walk-in clients via radio calls to avoid unauthorized access.
- Guide and control movement of staff, visitors, and traffic within, as well as in/out of the Company premises.
- Enter and maintain records of all visitors, contractors, trucks & customers accessing the Company’s premises
- Verification of all documents and physical inspection of Company property
- Site patrols on all Company properties.
- Record and maintain all occurrences at the Company premises as per standard operating procedures.
- Attend Security trainings and parades.
- Active participation in training.
- Hazard identification and reporting.
- Enforce bio-security measures for all staff, visitors and walk in clients.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- At least Uganda Certificate of Education, with relevant Security training.
- Two years of relevant experience in a similar field is required
- Ability to use proper body gadgets while performing duties.
- Ability to remain alert and aware of the surroundings.
- Ability to think clearly during crisis or high-stress periods.
- Possess empathetic abilities in dealing with employees and their questions.
- Demonstrate ability to work with others and interact appropriately.
- Good communication skills.
- Keen attention
