About Organisation:
The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program envisions a transformative network of young people and institutions driving inclusive and equitable socio-economic change in Africa. Since launching in 2012, the Program has supported nearly 45,000 young people in Africa to pursue secondary or tertiary education. The second phase of the Program will offer 1000 Scholarships to young African women and men, admitted to both the Undergraduate and Graduate Academic Programmes at Makerere University Main Campus. The Program aims to deepen inclusive University education and empower the Youth to transform into leaders who will make meaningful contributions to national and regional development.
Job Summary: The Program Administrator shall provide administrative support to all program operations
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide Secretarial and Office management to the Program.
- Ensure administration of meetings, recording and management of the meeting records.
- Manage the Staff Leave Roster and Travel schedules.
- Collaborate, communicate, and provide administrative support in scheduling program events and activities
- Establish, monitor, and manage the Semester-based activity schedule for capacity building programmes for staff and Mastercard Foundation Scholars.
- Support the Head MIS & Learning in updating the Mastercard Foundation Scholars’ ETO Database.
- Work closely with the Program Operations Lead in tracking the implementation of the Program
- Support the Recruitment Officer in selection and recruitment of Mastercard Foundation Scholars.
- Monitor, identify and report any safeguarding concerns that may arise during the Program implementation
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Secretarial Studies or Office Management with shorthand of 100/120 w.p.m.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in secretarial responsibilities or administrative services in an Institution of Higher Learning
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and MIS/Software to facilitate Program workflow.
- Experience in record keeping and drafting letters/Memos/Minutes and report writing
- Experience in providing administrative support to a Scholarship Program in an Institution of Higher Learning.
- Experience in co-ordinating recruitment of youth onto an education program
