Job Summary: Watoto is seeking to recruit a Physiotherapist to provide a high standard of physiotherapy services to patients including advanced and specialized work with musculoskeletal, orthopedic, & sports injury conditions at Watoto clinics in Laminadera Children’s village.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• To provide evidence-based physical therapy services to clients through skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients, to the preparation of treatment/support plans and their implementation with clients.
• To develop, formulate, and deliver individualized treatment programmes based upon evidence-based practice, manual assessment, and appropriate clinical reasoning.
• To manage an appropriate caseload of children, mothers and other team members with physical therapy needs within our communities, through referral by Laminadera clinic and Baby Watoto Gulu.
• To develop occupational health and safety measures to improve a client’s fitness for the job and help prevent workplace-related injuries.
• To safeguard and ensure competent use of all electrotherapy and gym equipment, patient appliances and aids and ensure that other members of the multi-disciplinary team attain competence before use.
• To generate systems for case load management, evaluation, and effective reports to monitor patient’s progress.
• To provide education to patients and caregivers regarding individual physical therapy needs, movement where appropriate and to formulate and provide training programs to Baby Watoto nannies in physical therapy routines of children with rehabilitation needs and ensure consistent implementation.
• To contribute to developing protocols to enhance the clinical development and efficacy of the clinic.
• To participate in trainings, as organized by Watoto Childcare, with the knowledge and agreement of medical rehabilitation coordinator.
• To undertake any additional duties, appropriate to the post as may be delegated from the medical rehabilitation coordinator and medical team leader.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• The applicant for the role should have a minimum of a diploma in Physiotherapy

• Three years of working experience in any of the fields as relates to medical rehabilitation.
• A team player, result oriented, self motivated and able to work under minimum supervision.
• Computer literacy.
• A team player highly motivated to achieve with exceptional teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to build rapport with patients from a variety of backgrounds and to be patient with tolerance.
• Commitment to work within a team environment and ability to work under minimal supervision
• Good physical health and fitness.
