Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behavior with regard to HSE rules with associated implementation and control within his area of responsibility.
- Prepare and update the General Drilling Program. Prepare drilling related DRILLEX (CAPEX, OPEX).
- Manage and coordinate Directional drilling, MWD/LWD, Downhole tools, Drilling bits, RTOC and OCTG contracts, ensuring contracts readiness and implementation prior operation start up. and during operations.
- Liaise closely with the Contracts and Cost Control departments to ensure all contracts are up to date (duration, budget, amendments etc.).
- Elaborate in collaboration with Completion engineering team and GSR team all necessary drilling requirements to issue wells’ SOR in due time.
- Ensure well technical feasibility. Guarantee collaborative work with GSR team to minimize well trajectories complexity while maximizing reservoir requirements ensuring wells productivity.
- Actively participate to drilling sequence recommendation and decision based on wells design, wells trajectory and drilling pads configurations.
- Update the weekly drilling operations planning, in line with the drilling schedule, ensuring all equipment’s are in place to meet the activity requirements.
- Lead drilling engineering studies and drilling software simulations to ensure wells construction and wells integrity, taking into account complex anti-collision requirements and follow up. Develop detailed drilling programs and operations guidelines, in line with FP referential.
- Select and promote new drilling techniques and equipment’s.
- Prepare wells authorization for expenditures in relation with managed contracts. And track wells costs.
- Lead Authorities permitting submission process. with the objective to get the required approvals on time for the planned operations.
- Ensure preparation & participation of the Drilling Team to Contractor Audits and Services Quality Meetings. Coordinate the participation of Drilling team to the Drilling Improvement Process system.
- Ensure QAQC & follow-up of Drilling hardware consumables and stock throughout the supply chain process.
- Initiate derogation dossiers and keep track of downgraded situations and mitigation plans.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Petroleum Industry MSc (or equivalent professional experience)
- Minimum of 10 years of international experience in drilling.
- The job holder should preferably have a previous experience in an operational position.
- Very good interpersonal skills and ability to manage an international team of engineers.
- Well design, Directional drilling, contracts management and team management.
