Job Summary: As an Operations Intern at Dafric Logistics Limited, you will gain hands-on experience in various aspects of logistics operations. You will support and collaborate with our operations teams in Kenya and Uganda to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery to our customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Monitor and track shipment schedules, ensuring timely deliveries.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure the availability of necessary truck supply.
- Provide support in managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts.
- Assist in analyzing operational data to identify areas for improvement and efficiency.
- Participate in field visits and interact with frontline staff to understand operational challenges and opportunities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of operational processes and procedures.
- Support the resolution of operational issues and customer inquiries.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to operations, such as documentation and reporting.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Currently pursuing or recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Passionate about pursuing a career in logistics and operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to travel and work in different locations within Kenya and Uganda.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
