The company’s principle business is the sale of trade books ranging from general knowledge books on a variety of subjects, children’s books, Bibles, educational books from nursery to tertiary level, maps and magazines. Uganda bookshop supports local authors and publishers and has a wide selection of books written by Ugandans.
Job Summary: Uganda Bookshop is looking for a highly motivated and self-driven Sales Representative to join our sales team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop innovative strategies to achieve sales goals and advance your sales career. The Sales Representative will be tasked with prospecting and creating new customers with an emphasis on generating long-term customer relationships and growing sales revenue. This is a commission-only position.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Present, promote, and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers.
- Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs.
- Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
- Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction.
- Achieve agreed-upon sales targets and outcomes within the schedule.
- Coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments.
- Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing, or related fields from a recognized University/Institution.
- Basic computer knowledge, including MS Word, email, and MS Excel.
- No sales experience is required, but a proven sales background will be an added advantage.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends and customer preferences.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
