Job Title: Manager Internal Audit

Ugachick Poultry Breeders Limited is a Ugandan, family owned and run business. Established in 1992, Located in Magigye, about 15 miles North of Kampala. Ugachick Poultry Breeders Limited has five mutually dependent business divisions namely ;- Feed Mill, Parent farm, Hatchery, Broiler Farm, Processing Plant.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Manager-Internal Audit will be required to perform the following core roles amongst other roles:
- To Evaluate and analyze operations and procedures- to ensure that they are well aligned to business objectives and goals.
- To evaluate existing internal controls, systems and processes and recommend improvements.
- To evaluate, identify, record (in business risk register) and report major risks to the major segments of the business as well as offer advice on effective risks mitigation plans.
- To follow up closely implementation of internal and external audit recommendations.
- To review operational weakness in policies and procedures established and recommend improvements
- To review and advise on key governance issues with view of promoting best practices.
- To develop annual Internal audit plans for review and approval by management and ensure their timely implementation.
- To prepare monthly Internal audit reports for management as well as quarterly internal audit board papers for presentation and discussions with Management and Board of Directors.
- To supervise, mentor, train, motivate staff and to ensure they work diligently to deliver high level of work output in time, and also build work team- spirit in the department.
- To perform special audit and other work functions that may be required by management and/or Board of Directors and issue reports for the respective tasks given.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- First Degree in Business of other relevant fields.
- Full Membership of CPA Uganda and other related bodies
- Holding CIA and/or MBA qualifications may provide additional advantage.
- At least five years in agro-processing or other profit- making settings
- Exposures to systems Audit may provide additional advantage
Competences:
- Internal Audit experience
- Risk management experience
- Systems related audits
- Good knowledge of computer systems and tools
- Board level reporting and discussions

- Problem-solving and with ability to make decisions.
- Good interpersonal, leadership and effective communication skills
- Good at managing time.
