Job Title: Hospital Accountant

Duty Station: Mbale, Uganda
Reports to: Finance and Administration Manager

Mt Elgon Hospital Mbale Ltd located on Plot 10-12. Independence Avenue. in Mbale City is a private hospital which has been in operation since 2009 with a Mission of providing timely and cost effective specialized clinical services using motivated professional for a satisfying client experience and a Vision of ‘A preferred health service provider.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly management accounts and reports. prepare annual statutory accounts and avail necessary input to ensure effective control of income. cash flow and expenditure.
- Ensure Implementation of approved accounting procedures/internal controls
- across the business and suggest regular improvements to internal controls.
- Prepare the monthly payroll with accurate statutory deductions. ensure deduction of staff advances and other appropriate deductions are made.
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of all accounting records.
- Manage performance of accounts payables. receivables and budget controls ensuring regular appraisals and feedbacks
- Collect budget input data. prepare and consolidate budgets
- Understand and address the training needs of subordinates. ensure discipline within the team.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of an Accounting first degree, ACCA Part 2 or CPA equivalent
- Three years of demonstrative working experience in a reputable institution is required.
- Experience in using Quick books is a must have.
