Job Title: Utility Shift Operator
Organisation: Hariss International Limited (Riham Group)
Duty Station: Mpererwe – Tula, Kampala, Uganda
Reports to: Utilities Team Leader

Hariss International Limited is one of Uganda’s leading manufacturers of food and beverages. Since its inception in 2005 the production of both food and beverages have been operating under the brand name RIHAM.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the whole utility department is running smoothly.
- Ensure that the regeneration of softeners is done every week.
- Responsible for weekly maintenance and cleaning of the utility department.
- Operate all equipment effectively and safely.
- Troubleshoot problems during machine operation.
- Ensure all inlet and out outlet circuit of cooling tower is done before the start of production.
- Continuously monitor all utility machine Boilers, chillers, compressors, cooling towers and softeners.
- Responsible for cleaning all pipelines in the area as per the standard frequency.
- Conduct all types of preventive and break-down maintenances of utilities.
- Schedule and assign preventive maintenance for all Boiler mechanical equipment.
- Participate in troubleshooting utility (water systems) and conduct repairs to ensure the plant can meet all operational commitments.
- Operate the boiler automatically to generate steam that is supplied for the beverage production
- process, and safely maintained the main header pressure.
- Maintain a normal operating water level of boilers daily.
- Maintain a boiler room log, recorded meter and gauge data readings, such as water test results and quantity of fuel consumed.
- Perform any other task as per management request.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- A minimum of a diploma of Mechanical, automotive or electrical engineering.
- At least 2-3 years’ experience in a Beverage manufacturing industry.
