Job Title:  Engineering Assistant (Fresher NGO Jobs)

Our model for rural water supply embodies this commitment through the construction, operation, and maintenance of solar-powered piped water systems that are financially, environmentally, and socially sustainable.

 

Job Summary:  The Engineering Assistant will support Water Compass’ technical team with the construction and maintenance of solar-powered piped water systems in Bukomansimbi, Gomba and Sembabule districts.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the supervision of contractors to ensure quality construction and adherence to design standards.
  • Support the installation of solar-powered pumping systems.
  • Help with the maintenance of existing solar-powered piped water systems.





Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Minimum of a diploma, preferably a degree, in civil engineering or water resources.
  • At least two years of experience with the construction of water supply systems.
  • Experience with the installation of submersible pumping systems.
  • Competency in using a computer and knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret blue prints and technical drawings.

 

Desired:

  • Knowledge of solar-powered water systems design, construction and maintenance.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to ride a motorcycle
