Job Summary: The Engineering Assistant will support Water Compass’ technical team with the construction and maintenance of solar-powered piped water systems in Bukomansimbi, Gomba and Sembabule districts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the supervision of contractors to ensure quality construction and adherence to design standards.
- Support the installation of solar-powered pumping systems.
- Help with the maintenance of existing solar-powered piped water systems.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Minimum of a diploma, preferably a degree, in civil engineering or water resources.
- At least two years of experience with the construction of water supply systems.
- Experience with the installation of submersible pumping systems.
- Competency in using a computer and knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret blue prints and technical drawings.
Desired:
- Knowledge of solar-powered water systems design, construction and maintenance.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to ride a motorcycle
