Job Summary:  We are seeking a friendly and professional restaurant Hostess to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, providing a warm welcome and ensuring a seamless dining experience from arrival to departure.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greeting Guests: Welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant with a friendly and courteous demeanour.
  • Seating Arrangements: Manage the seating chart efficiently to optimize table turnover while accommodating guest preferences and special requests.
  • Reservation Management: Confirm reservations, maintain an accurate record of bookings, and communicate effectively with the kitchen and serving staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Guest Assistance: Assist guests with providing menus, answering inquiries about the restaurant, menu items, and special promotions.
  • Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep the hostess station and waiting area clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Communication: Liaise with the serving staff, kitchen team, and management to relay guest preferences, special requests, and any issues that may arise.
  • Upselling: Promote special menu items, beverages, and desserts to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
  • Problem Resolution: Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, seeking assistance from management when necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.

 



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the hospitality industry.
