The Bank was formerly known as Cairo International Bank owned by the three leading Egyptian Banks namely; Banque Du Caire, Bank Misr and National Bank of Egypt. In 2019, it became a fully owned subsidiary of Banque Du Caire (BDC). The shareholder consolidation in 2019 was on the back of expanding its presence across Africa whilst providing an entry point into the COMESA market.
Job Summary: The Financial Planning & Analytics Manager will lead the bank’s Financial Planning concerning budgeting, performance analytics, revenue assurance, competitor and market analysis, and drive strategy implementation through insightful MIS reporting to support Executive Management in making effective and efficient decisions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Preparing consolidated financial performance report for the entire bank broken down by segment for income, cost, impairment, and balance sheet, ensuring all relevant segmental adjustments have been passed to ensure completeness and accuracy of the report.
- Preparing, analyzing, and reporting costs by function (cost centre) , incorporating direct costs and performing cost allocations for the indirect costs in line with predetermined cost allocation methodology, giving commentary on performance against budget.
- Preparing financial performance forecasts with relevant commentary against budget, circulating to executive management to drive performance discussions.
- Responsible for driving strategy implementation and long-term business plans while supporting the CFO to deliver on the strategic objectives.
- Preparing short- and medium-term budgets by function and cost centre for the entire bank and revised annual forecasts.
- Interpret and provide clear explanations of financial and operational information promptly to support businesses in understanding historical performance and its impact on future trends.
- Perform business cash flow projections and predict future trends, research and report on factors influencing business performance.
- Prepare Monthly Performance Review packs (MPRs) for business performance assessments.
- Preparing quarterly Board reports with a main emphasis on costs, income, and capital expenditure and comparing them with the approved budget and capital Plan.
- Preparing and circulating a daily balance sheet report by segment to in-country senior management, tracking major movements in customer assets and liabilities by segment, and movements in key ratios.
- Engage business heads regularly to identify issues relating to business performance and financial targets, and provide commentary and improvement initiatives.
- Preparation of competitor analysis reports and recommending opportunities to executive management for business improvement.
- Drive and prepare inputs into ALCO discussions and ensure ALCO performance targets are met.
- Ensure management information processes are prepared and disseminated according to agreed service level agreements.
- Prepare branch profitability and optimization reports to drive discussions on branch viability.
- Support the manager procurement to ensure all vendor engagements and expenditures are within the approved budget.
- Play a key role in product development and launches to ensure all parameters are catered for during product setups.
- Drive funds transfer pricing discussions between business segments with the support of the Treasury Head.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- University degree preferably in Statistics, Actuarial Science, Accounting and Quantitative Economics.
- Knowledge of Advanced Excel and Data Analytics is a must.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CA, CPA or equivalent is an added advantage.
- A minimum of five years post-qualification experience preferably in a financial institution and should have worked a minimum of 2 years at the managerial level.
- Advanced excel and SQL querying experience.
- Sound knowledge on database application.
- Sound knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and prudential regulations.
- Strategy implementation and monitoring
- Broad understanding of banking practice
- Stakeholder and performance management
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- An eye for detail and accuracy with a strong analytical capability
- Superior level of computer literacy is required.
