Job Summary: The Assistant Accountant will support the Senior Account to ensure all Finance procedures and processes are carried out within the set guidelines and targets for Uganda as assigned.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Posting all the journals into the general ledger and cash book entries
- Preparing bank and other GL reconciliations
- Ensure that there is data integrity by preparation of all reconciliations in a timely manner
- Posting all the transactions entries, accruals and other end month adjustments/ closing entries
- Processing of payments including commissions and other supplier payments within the proper procedures to minimize risk to the company.
- Facilitate both internal and external audits
- Filing statutory and regulators returns
- Monitoring the company’s liquid capital and ensuring complies with regulatory requirements. Investing any excess cash
- Managing Accounts Receivables and Payables.
- Performs any other duties as required
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or its equivalent
- 2-4 years’ experience in busy finance environment
- Professional accounting certification e.g. ACCA or CPA Part 2
- Strong Analytical Skills
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in Accounting Software and MS 365
- Strong Ethical Standards
- Time Management
- High Organizational and Communication Skills
