Job Summary: The Area Sales Manager will spearhead strategic planning to establish local networks and exceed sales targets in a territory they are attached to. This field-based role involves recruiting, training, and managing a team of Agent openers. The incumbent will be responsible for agent recruitment, agent activity, agent liquidity and agent branding.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Achieve and Surpass Sales Targets:
- Develop and expand local networks to achieve and exceed monthly sales.
Team Recruitment and Management:
- Recruit, train, coach, mentor, supervise, and retain a field-based team of agent openers to meet set targets aligned with CHAPCHAP AFRICA LTD business goals in the allocated market.
Performance Monitoring:
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of agent openers to ensure the achievement of sales targets and adherence to performance standards.
Reporting:
- Prepare and submit detailed weekly activity plans and reporting.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution.
- Two years of management experience in a related sales field, such as micro-finance, financial services, mobile-money, FMCG, or other product/service in East Africa.
- Experience in recruiting and managing commission sales agents.
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
- Ability to motivate and lead a team to achieve direct sales.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision with resilience and a “can-do” attitude.
- Willingness to work in rural areas.
- Fluency in local languages.
